Alliance 8.7
Launched in 2016, Alliance 8.7 is a global partnership to end forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking, and all forms of child labour, in accordance with SDG Target 8.7. The Alliance brings together governments, businesses, civil society organizations and international agencies to collaborate on efforts to combat these forms of exploitation.
FAO is a member of the Alliance 8.7 Global Coordinating Group, which gathers representatives of stakeholder groups and meets regularly to set goals and monitor progress.
The partners of Alliance 8.7 are the pathfinder countries, committed to be at the forefront of the fight to achieve SDG Target 8.7, driving progress on the ground. Through an inclusive approach bringing together all concerned stakeholders, pathfinder countries adopt roadmaps to accelerate progress and ensure the appropriate follow-up.
Overall, the Alliance acts as a platform to promote active collaboration and leverage expertise across a wide range of like-minded stakeholders. Dedicated Action Groups reflect the thematic priorities of Alliance 8.7 and bring together relevant organizations and initiatives to maximize impact.
FAO's participation underscores its pivotal role in leveraging expertise and raising awareness on child labour in agriculture in global arenas.
