Global Crop Mapping
Where: FAO King Faisal Room
Modality: Hybrid
The transformation towards a more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agriculture requires accurate, timely and integrated information at crop and parcel level for both the farmers and decision-makers.
The event will share FAO’s new initiative – SoLaWISe (Soil-Land-Water Digital Integrated Information System) as well other similar initiatives on crop mapping, such as WorldCereal (ESA), Anomaly Hot Spots of Agricultural Production (ASAP), The European Soil Observatory (EUSO - JRC), Monitoring Agricultural Resources (MARS), Asian Rice Initiative by Group on Earth Observations Global Agricultural Monitoring Initiative (GEOGLAM), crop mapping by CAS, and many others. The event will help to build a global partnership on a global crop mapping initiative – SoLaWISe.
