Inception Workshop for the Global OCOP Project in Samoa under the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme and Technical Training on the Implementation of OCOP Initiative for the Pacific Islands

The inception workshop for the Global Project in Samoa under the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme and Technical Training on the Implementation of One Country One Priority Product Initiative for the Pacific region will be organized in Apia, Samoa on 18-20 November 2025.
The inception workshop for “Promotion of One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) Initiative through the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme (SSC)” (GCP/INT/1110/CPR) will showcase to all participating countries how to implement the OCOP initiative at the national and farmer field levels. Samoa is the OCOP project country that will lead this showcasing.
Meanwhile, a Technical Training Course on the Implementation of the OCOP Initiative for the Pacific will be also organized in synergy with the ongoing FAO subregional TCP project “Pacific One Country One Priority Product (P-OCOP) for agrifood system transformation” (TCP/SAP/4003), to promote sustainable development of the special agricultural products in other seven OCOP countries in the subregion.
Additionally, the 3rd FAO OCOP Regional Organizing Group (ROG) Meeting in Asia and the Pacific will be held in the morning of 19 November 2025.
The Inception Workshop and Technical Training Course will be jointly organized by the OCOP Secretariat at FAO headquarters, the FAO Subregional Office in the Pacific and the FAO Country Office in Samoa, with support from the Government of Samoa.
