Working Group
Resource Mobilization for SSTC - Africa Group
23/03/2023 - 30/11/2023
Group Members
FAO seeks to mainstream SSTC at corporate and operational levels and is optimizing the impact and visibility of SSTC across the regions, sub-regions and countries, including through strengthening relationships with partners, towards achieving the SDGs. Close engagement with countries and regions, resource partners as well as with FAO streams/offices/centers, is critical for improving the SSTC modality mechanism. From an increasingly programmatic viewpoint, there is a major focus on assisting internal and external partners in FAO SSTC activities.
Endowing FAO Staff at HQ and Decentralized Offices (DO) with key knowledge, skills and tools that can increase the quality of support provided to countries and development partners will strengthen the SSTC, improve its implementation and better enable its mainstreaming. To fulfill these needs, a set of training sessions and accompanying materials is being produced to increase awareness of the value offered by SSTC as a type of technical help, as well as to enable the design, execution, and monitoring of SSTC initiatives and projects.
This working group was set-up as a follow-up to the training for the Africa Region held on the 28th March 2023. This working group is comprised of members from PST, PSR and RAF, to develop and design an SSTC resource mobilization action plan for RAF.
