WIEWS - El Sistema Mundial de Información y Alerta Rápida sobre los Recursos Fitogenéticos para la Alimentación y la Agricultura

This indicator focuses on households that received seeds for planting as an aid after disaster situations in the country of the reporting Stakeholder.

It is based on information reported in response to question 3.1 of the Reporting Format for Monitoring the Implementation of the Second Global Plan of Action for PGRFA.

Question 3.1 requests the Stakeholder to provide the name of the area affected by disasters, the disaster date and type, the name of the crop or preferably the name of taxon reintroduced, the amount and origin of seed distributed during the reporting period and the number of beneficiary households during the reporting period. Optionally, the name of the variety(ies) reintroduced, reintroduction date, the seed relief methodology used, the source of the germplasm and type of assessment made to guide the intervention can also be indicated.

‘Seed(s)’ refer to botanical seed as well as other vegetatively propagated planting materials such as root or tubers, corms and cuttings.

Information from question 3.1 fulfills both indicator 7 and indicator 8 of the Second GPA.

The information is provided according to a table as described below.
