Building an information system on family-based natural rubber plantations

Building on Cirad’s experience of family-based natural rubber farming (through the Hevea Research Platform in Partnership, or HRPP), WAW has been developing a project in Cambodia. Both the Cambodian Rubber Research Institute (CRRI) and the country’s General Directorate of Rubber (GDR) have expressed their desire to develop an information system on family-based natural rubber plantations. WAW aims to provide a permanent information system on family rubber farms to support households' livelihood strategies in a changing agricultural environment. WAW is developing a similar project in Myanmar and hopes to start a project in Thailand, which could potentially provide a regional perspective on rubber-based family farms.
