Livelihoods and Food Security Programme (LFSP)
Objective: The project aims to contribute to poverty reduction through increased incomes. The programme has two main components managed by FAO and Palladium. In addition, the programme results and impact is monitored and reported by Coffey International.

Short Description: The programme aims to increase agricultural productivity, increase incomes, improve food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in rural Zimbabwe. Other components of the programme are raising smallholder farm productivity by introducing improved and climate appropriate agricultural practices, increasing access to finance, and linking smallholder farmers to profitable commercial markets, to stimulate demand and supply of affordable nutritious foods. The programme is targeting 126 975 smallholder farm households in Mutare, Makoni, Mutasa, Kwekwe, Gokwe South, Shurugwi, Guruve and Mt Darwin districts.

Objective: This intervention aims to contribute to improving household food and nutrition security of smallholder communal farmers involved in small-scale irrigation in Zimbabwe.

Short Description: The project capitalises on the lessons learnt on drought and drought mitigation strategies over the past decades. The expected outcome is to sustainably increase production, productivity and competitiveness of smallholder-irrigated agriculture in targeted schemes in communal and old resettlement areas of Zimbabwe.
