Mulheres e agroecologia

Transformando o campo, as florestas e as pessoas

Mulheres e agroecologia: transformando o campo, as florestas e as pessoas is a life trajectory study of women farmers that actively participate in agroeoclogical movements in Brazil.

The women portraied in the book are part of current social organizations and movements working in the context of a bigger network of organizations, the National Articulation of Agroecology (Articulação Nacional de Agroecologia). These women are protagonists of key social changes in the Brazilian agrarian landscape by promoting local and communal ecological production while at the same time pressing to advance in political changes both at national and international levels.

Either disputing organizational spaces with men or autonomously, these women are arising as social and political leaders, questioning many social preconceptions in the collective imaginery regarding women in agriculture.
