International Seminar: Agroecology, family farming and Sustainable Development Goals - public policies in Latin America on 9 and 10 March 2021

On March 9 and 10 at 8h Columbia/10 h Brazil, the trilateral South-South cooperation project ''Sembrando Capacidades'' held the international seminar ''Agroecology, family farming and Sustainable Development Goals: public policies in Latin America''. The virtual seminar sought to disseminate and promote the exchange of experiences of Latin American countries in terms of public policy for agroecology, identify lessons learned and common challenges around three axes developed in different panels: prosperous and inclusive rural societies; sustainable food systems, and diets; and sustainable management of natural resources and resilience of livelihoods.

During the three panels, experiences from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Nicaragua were presented. Representatives from Colombia, Brazil, and FAO involved in the project ''Sembrado Capacidades'' were participated and those interested in public policy on agroecology, organizations, and networks of agroecology, networks academia, research centers, NGOs, and governments from different countries in the region.
