Los ministros de agricultura de Belice y México debaten sobre exportaciones de ganado
Minister of Agriculture Rene Montero has met with his Mexican counterpart Francisco Mayorga Castañana. According to a government press release, the meeting, held in Rome, Italy on Saturday discussed a proposed agreement for Belize to export cattle to Mexico. The official release says that what was discussed is the creation of corrals on northern Belize which will allow both Belizean and Mexican veterinarians to validate the suitability of cattle being exported to Mexico. No further details on the talks were provided except that on the Mexican side, apart from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance will be included in any finalization of the agreement. Saturday’s meeting between the Belizean and Mexican ministers of agriculture took place in the sidelines of the thirty seventh Session of the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, Italy.
