Stakeholder consultations on the AMR Partnership Platform

18/11/2022

The establishment of the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform by the Quadripartite included comprehensive consultations with stakeholders across the globe. Stakeholders provided valuable insights on the Platform’s structure and function but also elaborated on what priorities the Platform should focus on first.

Over the summer of 2021, nearly 700 participants across sectors and regions contributed to the public consultation organized by the Quadripartite. They helped shape the foundation for the launch of the Platform. The results of the public consultations can be found here.

In addition, a range of targeted consultations to support the definition of the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform’s priorities was organized in 2022. The targeted consultations included two workshops organized with the UK stakeholders by the UK Veterinary Medicine Department (VMD) and a teleconsultation held with the members of the Antibiotic Resistance Coalition facilitated by ReACT.

Stakeholders in both consultations welcomed the set-up of the AMR -Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform as an important coordination mechanism to leverage knowledge, build consensus and lead collective One Health response to AMR. They stressed that this mechanism needs to be action-driven, inclusive, and prioritize a bottom-up approach.
