The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), recognising that the need for a universally applicable code for the identification of currencies and funds had become increasingly urgent, has developed international standard codes for the representation of currencies and funds (ISO 4217). These codes are related to those developed by the ISO for geographical entities (ISO 3166). In the following two annexes are to be found lists of currencies and funds by: I) FAO multilingual 12-character country or area name. II) ISO 3-alpha currency code. Annex F.I Annex F.II
