Dr Ashkhen Shirvanyan has over 20 years’ experience in food safety, food security and animal health. She holds MS and PhD degrees in Biology from the Yerevan State University. In 2011, Ashkhen Shirvanyan was appointed as Head of Food Safety Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Republic of Armenia. Prior to joining the Ministry of Agriculture, she has been involved as a national Consultant in different projects implemented by FAO and WB group in Armenia. In her early career, Dr Shirvanyan has been employed by Scientific Centre of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science as a research assistant in the department of animal and bird infectious diseases.

      В Армении, как и в других странах проблема продоволственной безопасности имеет стратегическое значение, следовательно все мероприятия, направленные на обеспечение продовольственной безопасности в стране имеют значительную роль в решении данной проблемы. Одним из таких мероприятий является укрепление межсекторального сотрудничества для улучшения продовольственной безопасности и питания в Армении. Правительство Армении дает важное значение межведомственному и межсекторальному сотрудничеству, направленное на улучшение продовольственной безопасности и питания в Армении.

      Учитывая тот факт, что проблема продовольственной безопасности имеет многосекторальные компоненты, следовательно для решение этой проблемы необходимо вовлечение всех заинтересованных структрур на институциональном и правительственном уровнях, так как продовольственная безопасность это не только наличие продовольствия, а также доступность, использование и стабильность, которые возможно обеспечить только в процессе межсекторального сотрудничества.

      In Armenia, as in other countries, the problem of food security is of strategic importance, therefore all measures aimed at ensuring food security in the country have a significant role in solving this problem. One of these activities is strengthening intersectoral cooperation to improve food security and nutrition in Armenia. The government of Armenia gives importance to inter-agency and intersectoral cooperation aimed at improving food security and nutrition in Armenia.

      Given the fact that the problem of food security has multisectoral components, addressing this problem requires the involvement of all stakeholders at the institutional and governmental levels, since food security is not only food availability, but also accessibility, use and stability that can only be achieved in the process of intersectoral collaboration.
