G77 & China - Rome Chapter Handover Ceremony on 15 May 2020
G77 & China - Rome Chapter has conducted Chairship Handover Ceremony from the outgoing Chair, H.E. Ms. Natalina Edward MOU, Alternate Permanent Representative of the Republic of South Sudan to the incoming Chair, H.E. Ms. Esti Andayani, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to FAO.
The Ceremony was held virtually and attended by more than 70 representatives of members as well as Rome-based Agencies (RBAs).
On this occasion, Indonesia delivered three key priorities for its chairship:
1) Enhancing efforts to implement Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, in particular, SDG 1 and 2;
2) The Food Systems Summit 2021;
3) Promoting efforts to strengthen South-South and Triangular Cooperation.
The representatives of the member states and RBAs conveyed their support for Indonesia's leadership in advancing multilateralism as well as common interests of developing countries in RBAs.
