INSAS Webinar " eHALOPH and the economic uses of salt-tolerant plants " | 13 February 2024, 16:00-17:30 (CET)

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the webinar “eHALOPH and the economic uses of salt-tolerant plants”. This event promises to be an enriching and engaging online gathering bringing together experts, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to share their knowledge and experience.

During this webinar, we will explore the complex relationships between human activities and the natural salt cycle. We will introduce you to eHALOPH (https://ehaloph.uc.pt), an innovative platform designed to store data on halophytes. Furthermore, we will offer a live demonstration of its functionality and describe how it can be used to compile information on the economic applications of salt-tolerant plants. Finally, we will shed light on the journey of halophytes, from their existence as wild species to their cultivation on farms, ultimately reaching our tables.

The webinar will take place online on Tuesday 13 February 2024, 16:00 – 17:30 (Central European Time).

The webinar is the second in a series of webinars organized by the International Network of Salt-Affected Soils of the Global Soil Partnership, an initiative which is aimed at raising awareness on sustainable management of salt-affected soils for food security, agricultural sustainability and climate change mitigation.

Our distinguished panellists for this session include:
