The event will commence with an international workshop on Managing Salt-affected Soils for Sustainable Future on May 23, followed by a series of sessions on EASP progress, country reports, relevant national and regional initiatives, and EASP way forward.

Participants will also discuss the establishment of national networks and the role of focal points, progress made according to the work plan for 2020-2023, and priorities under the GSP Action Framework 2022-2030.

The meeting will conclude with the adoption of the revised Implementation Plan for the period 2023-2026 and the election of the EASP Chair, Vice-chair, and Working Group coordinators.

An optional field trip to the bottom of the Aral Sea area to explore saline agriculture and restoration of degraded agricultural areas will be held on May 25-26.
