Daniel Urcía, President of the Federation of Argentinian Refrigeration Industries (FIFRA according to its acronym in Spanish), stressed today that the high rates charged by the financial system do not favor private investment in the livestock sector, commenting that the State should finance livestock.

"The tenor of the high rates that are paid on some financial instruments is not appealing for the private sector, for capital from sectors other than agriculture, to invest in livestock; it should therefore be the State that drives investment in the sector through institutional funds or reserves," Urcía stated in a report.
