Basic principles of seed production are described to assist emergency practitioners in seed sector rehabilitation. International regulations affecting seed production and trade are also discussed. Finally, key concepts of seed security assessment are provided, as well as the different types of seed relief interventions.

This training manual provides an overview of the major land tenure issues that may arise following a natural disaster which need to be considered and included in the decision-making processes associated with the whole disaster risk management phases. It provides information when preparing the formulation of a national adaptation plan (NAP).

The main objective of these guidelines is for mainstreaming gender analysis throughout the emergency response sequence, to ensure that humanitarian assistance is more effective. They aim at reviewing basic principles and concepts of emergency response, introducing basic gender-based planning tools applicable to emergency-situations, identifying how gender is a relevant factor in natural disasters and complex emergencies, strengthening the planning role of key partners and stakeholders in the emergency context.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification is a set of protocols or tools and procedures to classify the severity of food insecurity and provide actionable knowledge for decision support. This Technical Manual Version provides food security analysts with technical standards and guidelines for conducting IPC analysis. The version introduces revised standards based on field application and expert consultation over the past several years. The manual is targeted to technicians and practitioners. It is reorganized into four core functions, each of which includes protocols (tools and procedures) that guide the work of IPC analysts:(1) Building Technical Consensus, (2) Classifying Severity and Causes, (3) Communicating for Action, (4) Quality Assurance. The manual can help the planning of national adaptation actions.

Cambodia is increasingly affected by disasters such as floods, droughts, pest and diseases, and storms. The Royal Government of Cambodia in general and the General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries in particular is dedicating the strong efforts to counterbalance the impacts. This Plan of Action for Disaster Risk Reduction in Agriculture 2014-2018 was designed as a practical living and guidance document, a work agenda, and a roadmap to include key aspects of disaster risk reduction (DRR) into the sustainable development agenda of agriculture, especially for crop production and sustainable land management. Building on existing planning frameworks and institutional mechanisms for disaster risk reduction and management is vital when planning climate change adaptation interventions.
