Global Call for Agrifood system Innovations and Stories of capacity development for innovation: Deadline November 15th!

The world is facing complex and unprecedented challenges in the agrifood systems, from feeding a growing population to addressing the impacts of climate change that call for innovative solutions using less resources and improve people’s livelihoods while “leaving no one behind”.

We at the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP), a G20 initiative to promote agricultural innovation in the tropics, hosted and led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), with the financial contribution of the European Union, and with TAPipedia (www.tapipedia.org), the knowledge portal focused on capacities for agricultural innovation, are proud to launch a global call for innovation stories in agricultural innovation.

We believe that sharing and learning from the experiences of others is critical to advancing the agriculture sector, and we want to hear from people and organizations who are making a difference. Whether you are a farmer, researcher, entrepreneur, or any other individual or group who is working to transform agrifood systems in the face of current global challenges, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for stories that demonstrate how innovative practices and technologies are being used to address challenges in the agriculture sector, such as improving yields, reducing the use of harmful chemicals, increasing resilience to climate change, and more. These stories on innovations (technological, organisational/institutional, social, and policy) in agrifood systems, should analyse the factors of success and more specifically focus on analysing the capacities needed for the innovation to happen and add value in the community or technical domain. The stories should demonstrate how innovative practices have resulted in concrete, tangible benefits for farmers, communities, and the environment.

To get inspiration you might wish to read about the innovation stories coming from different countries, like Burkina FasoGuatemala, and many others from the CDAIS project.

You can submit your story by filling out a short form that includes information about your innovative stories and the impact and results they have achieved..
