To promote agricultural innovation, favorable and evidence-based policies are needed. Thus, actors in the agricultural innovation system (AIS) often seek to influence policy through e.g. policy dialogue and briefs to communicate relevant evidence from the agrifood system. But actual policy outcomes depend on the quality and efficiency of this process. As such, the TAP-AIS project, funded by the European Union (EU) since 2019, is addressing this innovation-policy nexus through multi-stakeholder policy dialogue processes. In this side-event, experts from leading organizations in agricultural innovation will share and discuss issues and insights on the innovation-policy nexus. And policy makers from Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Colombia and Malawi will share their experiences addressing issues that constrain agricultural innovation through multi-stakeholder policy dialogue processes to identify relevant solutions.
