Field visit to Conservation Agriculture Service Center (CASC) organized by TAP-AIS project in Cambodia

Following the TAP-AIS project’s final reflection workshop in Cambodia, a field visit was organized on 01 December 2022 to the Conservation Agriculture Service Center (CASC) in Ratanak Mundul District, Battambang Province. Mr. Sar Veng and Ms. Samnang Sreylin led the visit and presented CASC’s research, implementation and outreach activities on conservation agriculture (CA) in the region.

CASC provides multiple services to farmers including mechanization services and information and support on implementing CA practices, such as the use of cover crops and cover crop seed production, among others.

Conservation agriculture is an innovative and agroecological farming system that has been in focus throughout the TAP-AIS project implementation. A policy dialogue process led by the Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Intensification Consortium (CASIC) was supported by the TAP-AIS project and co-organized together with CASC.

The policy dialogue process resulted in the publication of a policy brief (available online here) which will serve as an input to CASIC’s next action plan and Cambodia’s Agriculture Development Policy (ADP 2023-2030).
