FAO at the 22nd Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) is the largest global gathering of Indigenous Peoples, taking place from 17-28 April 2023 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The Forum was established in 2000 with the mandate to deal with indigenous issues related to economic and social development, culture, the environment, education, health and human rights.

The theme of the 22nd session is “Indigenous Peoples, human health, planetary and territorial health and climate change: a rights-based approach”. We invite you to follow the official programme here: https://media.un.org/en/webtv

A FAO delegation from FAO’s Indigenous Peoples Unit and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division will participate in the Forum to participate in the official programme, several side events and bilateral meetings.
