Crop Monitoring Box (CM_Box)

The Crop Monitoring Box (CM_Box) offers full documentation to the AgroMetShell software suite as well as a manual on the various aspects of relevance to crop forecasting. It contains introductory sections on crop yield forecasting, crop modelling, establishing a crop monitoring network, collecting weather and crop data and calculating derived parameters, including soil water balance attributes and using the latter to predict crop yields. It includes sections on the role of GIS, and explains how to integrate remote sensing in crop forecasting and to prepare crop monitoring and weather impact bulletins. CM_Box is the key to a comprehensive software package, that can be tailored to suit individual countries specific requirements, available expertise and data, and is therefore an excellent resource for capacity-building of specialists interested in crop monitoring and forecasting for food security at regional, national and sub-national levels.
