Abdolreza Abbassian, FAO's Senior Economist, on November Food Price Index
Abdolreza Abbassian talks about FAO's November Food Price Index. A significant rise in all food commodities with the exception of meat has been registered in October 2015, mainly related to weather conditions around the globe. The most notable increase has been in sugar, followed by dairy products and palm oil. Moreover, El Nino is going to curb output in 2016, but Abbassian notes that although a prices can be expected to grow "a little bit", there isn't much reason for concern, as overall supplies are good and reserves enough.
