When cyclones and flooding hit Mozambique in the year 2000,thousands of families who depend on agriculture and fishing for survival were left with nothing. FAO Special Relief Operations, financed by the Italian Government, focused on the distribution of seeds and tools to some 100,000 farmers and 270 new fishing boats to small-scale fishermen, a vital first step on the road to full recovery.
