Рим/Джуба – Правительство Южного Судана, Продовольственная и сельскохозяйственная организация Объединенных Наций (ФАО) и Всемирный банк активизировали усилия по содействию мелким фермерам Южного Судана в повышении невосприимчивости к изменению климата на фоне повторяющихся наводнений и других экстремальных погодных явлений. Сумма в 30 млн долл. США, выделенная Всемирным банком в виде гранта через Международную ассоциацию развития, будет направлена на оказание фермерам, рыбакам и скотоводам поддержки в освоении передовых методов ведения сельского хозяйства и агролесоводства и формировании навыков рациональной эксплуатации природных ресурсов.

Сонгдо/Рим – Одобренный сегодня Зеленым климатическим фондом (ЗКФ) проект на сумму 52,3 млн долл. США призван помочь Малави справиться с разрушительными последствиями изменения климата и укрепить продовольственную безопасность страны в долгосрочной перспективе.  Он реализуется под руководством Продовольственной и сельскохозяйственной организации Объединенных Наций (ФАО) и позволит за шесть лет помочь почти 575 000 уязвимых жителей сельских районов. Малави, которую ООН относит к категории наименее развитых стран, получит крайне необходимые инвестиции на цели адаптации и обеспечения невосприимчивости к внешним воздействиям.
