7 November 2022 – A virtual international training curricula consultation workshop, focusing on rice value chain, was successfully organized by FAO under the framework of the “Capacity Development and Experience sharing for Rice Value Chains through South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC)” project, funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Republic of Korea (MAFRA). Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, 7 November 2022 - Thirty-five farmers will benefit from a series of trainings on sustainable agricultural practices, including the use of renewable energy technology in agricultural production and the improved management of water resources, thanks to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Government of Mexico and the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

As part of the ‘Addressing the Water-Energy Nexus in Agriculture’ sub-project of the Mexico-CARICOM-FAO Initiative “Cooperation for Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience in the Caribbean” or Resilient Caribbean Initiative in short, FAO together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Sustainable Development have begun the process of validating 40 potential water harvesting and water intake (drainage) sites across the twin-islands.

En el marco del diálogo político de alto nivel que impulsa el programa “Mesoamérica sin Hambre AMEXCID-FAO”, se celebró un encuentro en coordinación con la Presidencia Conjunta del Proyecto de Integración y Desarrollo de Mesoamérica (PM), ostentada actualmente por México y Costa Rica, que tuvo por objetivo compartir las experiencias y resultados alcanzados en el marco de este Programa en territorio costarricense.
