FORESTRY NETWORKING

TEAM OF SPECIALISTS ON CONTRIBUTION OF FORESTS TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN EASTERN EUROPE

The Joint Session of the European Forestry Commission and Timber Committee in 2004 approved the FAO/UNECE Team of Specialists with the objective to enhance effectiveness of international activities intended to support and contribute to sustainable development of the forest sector in South East Europe and in CIS, notably through:
Strengthened forest management and marketing
Strengthened policy and institutional framework
Improved forest information management and communication

     Foreign Relations Unit of Forests of Czech Republic - Lese Ceské: support to a series of workshops on capacity building on forest policies and institutions.

     German Academic Exchange Service - Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD): Annual financing of consultants internships.
