International Conference for Nile Basin Countries on “Sustainable Development of Soil and Water Resources in Nile Basin”

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) of Egypt, represented by its Egyptian National Committee on Soil Science, is holding an International Conference for Nile Basin Countries on “Sustainable Development of Soil and Water Resources in Nile Basin” between 17th and 19th October 2016. The conference will be held in Tiba Rose Hotel, Cairo, Egypt.

 The objectives are :

1- Enhance and strengthen relationships between Nile basin countries in the field of soil and water management.
2- Open communication channels between Egyptian scientific associations and their counterparts in Nile basin countries. 
3- Develop strategies for scientific cooperation between Nile basin countries in the field of soil and water. 
4 -Encourage research cooperation between scientific institutions in Nile basin countries. 
5- Explore the potential for joint venture between scientific institutions in Nile basin countries. 
6- Strengthen the Egyptian role in enhancing scientific relations between Nile basin countries.

This conference Themes are :

1- Soil resources in Nile basin countries and optimum management to overcome the encountered problems.
2- Cooperation between Nile basin countries to control desertification, erosion, degradation and soil pollution.
3- Sustainable agricultural development of Nile basin countries.
4- Hydrology of Nile River.
5- Water policies in the Nile basin countries. 
6- Causes and sources of pollution of Nile River. 
7- The scientific cooperation between Nile basin countries to control water pollution.
8- Enhancement of scientific research cooperation between institutions in Nile basin countries.
