Mbarara University of Science and Technology was established in 1989. It is located in the southwestern part of Uganda, approximately 280 kilometres from Kampala. The university has two campuses: the City Campus and the Kihumuro Campus. It currently comprises six faculties and two institutes, with approximately 6,000 students and 500 staff members.
