Mbarara University of Science and Technology was established in 1989. It is located in the southwestern part of Uganda, approximately 280 kilometres from Kampala. The university has two campuses: the City Campus and the Kihumuro Campus. It currently comprises six faculties and two institutes, with approximately 6,000 students and 500 staff members.
Mbarara University of Science and Technology provides training and promotes research in science, technology, engineering, education, agriculture, mathematics, management, business, informatics, and computing.
