The Capixaba Institute for Research, Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (Incaper), an agency linked to the State Secretariat for Agriculture, Supply, Aquaculture and Fisheries (Seag) , is responsible for applied research, technical assistance and rural extension services within the State of Espírito Santo.

The beginning of Incaper's trajectory within the Espírito Santo agricultural system was marked by the creation of the Espírito Santo Rural Credit and Assistance Association (Acares), on November 16, 1956. This institution aimed to raise the standard of living of farmers, with the help of supervised rural credit, to increase agricultural production and productivity.
