The Marine Fisheries Directorate (Direction des Pêches Maritimes, DPM) is a governmental directorate under the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Economy of Senegal. The Direction des Pêches Maritimes (DPM) is responsible for the management, regulation, and sustainable development of marine fisheries in Senegalese waters. Its activities include monitoring and conserving marine fish stocks, enforcing fishing regulations, promoting sustainable fishing practices, supporting industrial and artisanal fisheries, and providing technical assistance and training to stakeholders. The Marine Fisheries Directorate (Direction des Pêches Maritimes) also contributes to research programs, international fisheries cooperation, and national initiatives aimed at ensuring the economic and environmental sustainability of the country’s marine fisheries sector.
