The Peruvian Navy (original name: Marina de Guerra del Perú – MGP) is the naval branch of the Armed Forces of Peru, responsible for protecting the country’s maritime sovereignty, security, and interests. It oversees naval operations, maritime patrols, search and rescue missions, and the defense of Peru’s coastal and offshore territories. The navy also participates in humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and international cooperation, while supporting scientific research, naval education, and the development of Peru’s maritime capabilities.
