The Academy of Sciences of Albania (ASA) is the highest public institution for scientific research and academic excellence in Albania. Established in 1972, it promotes and coordinates scientific research, supports the development of national scientific capacities, publishes scientific journals and books, and provides independent scientific expertise for policy-making and societal development. Through its research institutes, scientific journals and international collaborations, the Academy contributes to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in natural sciences, agriculture, fisheries, biodiversity, environmental sciences, social sciences and humanities. The Academy is committed to the principles of Open Science and provides free online access to its scientific journals and conference publications.
