Expanding AGRIS in Mexico: Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro Joins the Network

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) extends a welcome to the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro from Mexico as the newest member of the International System for Agricultural Science and Technology
(AGRIS). Founded in 1951, the University of Querétaro has a rich history marked by academic excellence and continual growth.

Initially focused on programs in law, engineering, and chemistry, the university gained autonomy in 1959, setting the stage for its expansion into diverse fields of study. The establishment of the Cerro de las Campanas Campus in 1973 further cemented UAQ's status as the premier university in the state of Querétaro. Today, the institution is renowned for its commitment to research and innovation.

Joining AGRIS, Universidad Autónoma de México becomes the third active data provider from Mexico, contributing approximately one thousand records to the platform. These records cover a wide range of themes, including hydrophobic properties, genetics, microbes, molecular analysis, and pathogenicity.

Through its participation in AGRIS, the institution demonstrates its dedication to advancing agricultural science and technology, further enriching the global research community.

Welcome to AGRIS, Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro!
