Instituto de Ciencias Marinas de Andalucía (ICMAN) belonging to Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), was created in 1955 under the name "Fisheries Research Institute", and is located on the University Campus of Puerto Real (Cádiz) since year 1986, where it moved from its previous facilities in the fishing port of Cádiz.
