Guided by FAO’s Strategic Framework 2022–2031 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for Cambodia, the CPF aims to strengthen human development, support economic transformation, promote environmental sustainability, and advance social inclusion—contributing to a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable development pathway for Cambodia.
FAO in Cambodia
Cambodia has been a member of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) since 1950, with its first country office established in 1979. In partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia and key stakeholders, FAO is leading efforts to transform the country’s agrifood systems by promoting sustainable agriculture, enhancing food security, and reducing hunger. FAO's work focuses on six key areas: agriculture value chains, One Health and livestock production, fisheries, forestry, land and water management, food systems governance, and data and digital transformation.
Country Programming Framework 2024-2028
The FAO Country Programming Framework (CPF) for Cambodia 2024–2028 aligns FAO’s support with Cambodia’s national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It focuses on transforming agrifood systems through sustainable and inclusive development across key sectors, including agriculture value chains, fisheries, forestry, land and water management, food systems governance, One Health and livestock production, as well as data and digital transformation.
