Launch of the online questionnaires on access and benefit-sharing for genetic resources for food and agriculture
The FAO Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (Commission), at its 19th Regular Session, requested for a report on the practical application of access and benefit-sharing (ABS) country measures to the different subsectors of genetic resources for food and agriculture (GRFA) and associated traditional knowledge (TK). The report will aim to identify the effects of ABS measures on the exchange, utilization and conservation of GRFA and associated TK and on the sharing of benefits.
For this purpose, the Commission Secretariat is conducting a survey to collect information on existing ABS practices and experiences from relevant National Focal Points as well as from stakeholders who use GRFA for research and development.
The survey will take about 30 minutes to complete and should be completed by 20 September 2024.
