Guilin, 20 November 2025 — The 2025 International Workshop on Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) opened today in Guilin, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and heritage practitioners around the world to advance the dynamic conservation of traditional agricultural systems.

Nanning, 7 November 2025 — The 2025 Global South I-Dialogue on Agriculture (GSiDA) opened today in Nanning, bringing together governments, technical institutions, international organizations, academia and the private sector to explore development solutions for transforming agrifood systems through South–South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC).

Xiamen, 6 November 2025 –Under the theme of “New Engine of Blue Development for the Maritime Community with a Shared Future”, the World Ocean Week in Xiamen was held from November 6 to 12 in Xiamen City, Fujian Province.

Focusing on key areas such as marine economic development, marine ecological civilization, and marine technological innovation, the World Ocean Week in Xiamen integrated international high-end dialogues with precise industry matchmaking, bridged the communication of marine culture and technological innovation exchanges, and injected new vitality into the development of the global marine industry with rich and diverse event content and an open and inclusive cooperation attitude. Now in its 19th year, CIFSQ remains a premier platform connecting scientists, regulators, and industry leaders to share the latest research, exchange best practices, and promote coordinated action for safer food worldwide.

Representing the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Mr. Carlos Aldeco, FAO Representative in China and DPRK, delivered opening remarks emphasizing that “food safety and quality lie at the heart of everything we do in health, nutrition, and food security.” He underscored that robust food safety systems not only protect households from illness, but also support fair and open trade, reduce food loss and waste, and strengthen resilience in agrifood systems amid climate change and shifting consumption patterns.

Zhengzhou, 3 November 2025 –Initiated in 2007 by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the China-LAC Business Summit is China’s first institutional platform for promoting economic and trade cooperation targeting Latin America and the Caribbean. So far, the summit has been successfully hosted for 17 years, focusing on international economic and trade trends, addressing the concerns of the Chinese and LAC business communities, and facilitating extensive and in-depth discussions on trade and investment policies, market opportunities, and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and LAC.

Wuhan, 23 October 2025 — FAO teams from the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP), FAO China and Headquarters engaged with thousands of young professionals across China during the 6th United Nations Job Fair, held in Wuhan and Guangzhou from 23 to 29 October. The event, sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and co-organized by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, gathered 21 UN agencies and over 3,000 students from more than 50 universities across China. The fair was widely covered by national media and university websites.
