CGE Learning Stream 1: Innovative finance and market models to close women’s economic gaps in agrifood systems
17 April - 30 June 2026
Persistent gender gaps in access to finance, productive assets and markets continue to constrain women’s economic participation in agrifood systems.
CGE’s Learning Stream 1 focuses on identifying and sharing practical financial tools and business models that work and demonstrably improve women’s economic outcomes, productivity, market integration and performance in agrifood systems — and on understanding what it takes to scale them. Through this Learning Stream, CGE will convene governments, private sector actors, UN entities and civil society to examine not only what works, but under which conditions innovative finance and market models effectively close women’s economic gaps across agrifood systems.
As part of Learning Stream 1, CGE is collecting practical tools and approaches that help improve women’s access to finance and economic opportunities in agrifood systems. These will be compiled in a concise, user-friendly knowledge output under the CGE initiative, featuring selected tools and practices from partners and allies. The aim is to make practical solutions visible, accessible and easier to use and scale, and to continue building the body of evidence around the returns on investment towards women in agrifood systems.
