FAO in Viet Nam

Delivering results for Viet Nam since 1978, FAO has played a key role in the country’s transformation from one of the world’s poorest nations to a dynamic upper middle-income economy in a single generation. Today, FAO is working with Viet Nam to build on this progress to turn an ambitious and inclusive development agenda into reality, with the overarching goals of delivering sustainable results in agrifood systems transformation, climate adaptation and rural development. With the Country Programming Framework 2022–2026 providing the strategic backbone for this work, aligned with national priorities and framed through FAO’s aspirational ‘Four Betters’, priority areas include climate-smart agriculture, food safety, animal and plant health, nutrition and rural livelihoods.
