AI for Good Global Summit:

Established in 2017 by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for digital technologies, the AI for Good Global Summit has become the UN’s leading global platform for advancing the responsible, inclusive, and impactful use of artificial intelligence. Its goal is to unlock AI’s potential to serve humanity by connecting tech innovation with real-world needs, supporting the development of critical skills and standards, and fostering global partnerships to scale trusted AI solutions for sustainable development.

Taking place from 7 to 10 July 2026 at Palexpo in Geneva, the 2026 Summit will bring together governments, international organizations, industry leaders, academia, civil society, and the technical community. Together, participants will explore how AI, robotics, and emerging technologies can help address urgent global challenges and accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

FAO's Role: Transforming Agrifood Systems Through AI

At this year's Summit, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will position agrifood systems at the center of the global AI agenda. Through a strategic set of sessions and high-level partnerships, FAO will showcase how responsible, inclusive, and open AI can strengthen food security, support climate resilience, and accelerate sustainable digital transformation.

FAO’s participation will highlight practical innovations, ranging from youth-led solutions and open-source technologies to robotics, while reinforcing its core role in connecting global AI governance discussions with concrete, actionable applications for farmers, rural communities, and agrifood systems worldwide.
