Population Explosion & Resource Depletion

I appreciate the on going discussion on making e-agriculture through PPP. The access to information on agriculture sector has been essential factors. Access to information on market development is one of the important services in BDS. Yes there are quite no of successful examples in Asia especially from India and Srilanka. Still more efforts and interventions is required: having good synergy of private sector especially ISP. Some of the model progarmme are successful. Still agriculture related information is not in built. Still ISP are not realizing there huge market on agriculture sectors. If ICT sector realize the importance this sector and penetrate there services, it will be beneficial to the farmers (produces) and ICT sector equally. Finally it will bost the agric industry. Regarding the role of different sector, Local NGOs together with local government authority and private sector especially ICT sector can play active role in awareness, local user-friendly content design and local capacity building. There are always issues of sustainability and local ownership. Therefore in my opinion, This PPP model should be operate a local commercial venture. Have a very successful discussion Ekanath Khatiwada
