Dear All, My name is Pawan Kumar and I work as Manager, Communication, Monitoring & Evaluation in Uttarakhand, India. Our project is funded by IFAD and works in remote hill regions of Himalayas. The topic of this econference is very exiting and I look forward to hearing the views of participants and experts. Due to remoteness use of internet is virtually non-exitent at present. However mobile penentration has reached most parts of the project villages. I am interested in the uses of mobile for data transmission, knowledge sharing as well as other applications in a sparsely populated region having population densities of 100 persons/sq km. Pawan
