Hi, This is Shaik N.Meera, a senior scientist working with Directorate of Rice Research, HYderabad, India. Have been working on ICT enabled extension services for quite sometime. My recent study conducted in Southern India revealed among the (public) extension systems, m-readiness is more prominent compared to e-readiness. The information and training supports could well be provided through mobile telephony, if a viable strategy is employed. Mobile telephony in rural areas should not only provide the relevant content, but also contribute to the service coordination among stakeholders.
