Introduction

I am M.Lakshmanan, running my own agriclinic,in Tamilnadu, south India,providing agricultural extension and management services. During one of my recent assignments, which had a specific focus on developing market information systems for agricultural communities in the villages abutting forests,I have enthralled to observe the active use of mobile telephony along with modern digital devices in sharing and accessing market information.
