Hi, I am Ryhan Ebad working as AVP for Zoom Developers Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi,India. I am involved in implementing ICT and bridging the digital divide across villages in India. Our company has extensive industry exposure in eGovernance and ICT implementation in rural sector. We are closely working with Govt. of India and local State Governments under PPP model focusing primarily on rural entrepreneurship and market mechanism. We have been selected for setting up 12000+ Common Service Centres (CSC) targeting a rural population of over 70 million. The concept of CSC is similar to that of telecentres across the globe. It is indeed a wonderful experience traveling to rural sectors and meeting the least known fellow citizens and learning about their cultures, values, customs, and above all their needs. It is my great pleasure to meet every one participating in this forum. Thanks.

Ryhan, we are very glad you joined the Forum for this discussion on Mobile telephony in rural areas. I think your experience in needs assessment will be very useful for all of us. In my opinion, meeting people, listening to them, assessing their needs and requests is the FIRST thing we all should do before even thinking about the services to deliver. I really consider it fundamental to guarantee the success to any project. Please share with us your experience in the discussion thread at "[url=http://www.e-agriculture.org/550.html?&view=single_conf&cat_uid=55&conf… - Week 1[/url]". Cheers Luca (FAO)
