Hi, I'm Helen Hambly Odame, Associate Professor in Capacity Development and Extension, School of Environmental Design and Rural Development at the University of Guelph, Canada. I teach in the area of communication for social and environmental change. I've beed involved in action research on ICTs in rural Africa for some years. Since 2003, I have also been working on rural broadband capacities here in Canada. It is a global issue! While I tend to specialize in rural radio (www.uoguelph.ca/larrra), I am also interested in video and mobile telephony applications in combination with rural radio. Looking forward to the discussions, thanks Helen Hambly

Hello Helen! Nice to "see" you and glad that you have joined the forum. Your thoughts on linkages between mobile telephony and other technologies would be most welcome. If you haven't had time to look yet, please see the ongoing discussion under "Week 1". Another issue will be raised tomorrow (Wed.). cheers, Michael (FAO)
