I am a free lance information consultant specializing in agricultural information. I am currently working for ICRISAT on FAO's AGROVOC. Thanks to telecommunications, I work from home or from wherever I am and I am back to my career path. Because of my mode of working I see a different cross section of people and in fact I am more close to the general public. I see them invest lot of time and energy on watching TV shows and listening to radio. People participation is also very high, sending SMS votes, forwarding messages etc. I very much wish that similar enthusiasm and participation should happen with useful knowledge sharing as well. Slowly, a few elements could be introduced into the existing events and gradually there could be full-fledged programmes devoted to a particular topic. I believe in MAINSTREAMING!!

Dear Sugunasri, we are glad of your enthusiasm as we are deeply convinced, as you are, of the importance of people motivation to reach our aims. :D On Monday, Carl Jackson introduced an [url=http://www.e-agriculture.org/550.html?&no_cache=1&view=single_thread&ca… debate[/url] about the power of good examples to get people involved. Maybe you'd like to participate and offer your point of view on that! Cheers, Luca (FAO)
